Alternative Classroom Instructional Assistant at Corydon Central High School
Starting Pay $18.04 an hour
Full time, working 7 hours a day from 7:50 am to 3:20 pm, following school calendar, with benefits
*All employees must complete a nationwide criminal history
*Must have strong background in math
Preferred Qualifications:
Based on P.L. 107-110,section 1119© (1), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, shall have one of the following:
1) Two years of college experience
2) Two year college degree
3) Passed the Para-Pro Assessment
4) One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children
5) Passed annual school-level evaluations
6) Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes
7) Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentials
8) Completed LEA required professional development modules/training
9) Completed other requirements - LEA may request approval from IDOE

Duties:
Monitors students assigned to socially restricted environments, to include in school suspension, class period suspension, and other restricted student assignments.
Work with students and the school counselor on student issues and the prevention of undesirable behaviors that resulted in restricted assignments.
Organizes and disseminates lessons to students under the direction of certified staff, which includes a log of student work completed, regular communication with teachers to maintain instructional momentum, and tutoring assistance when necessary.
When available, provide remediation to tier II students, specifically, for Language Arts and Math.
All other duties deemed necessary by the building principal.
*Anticipate that this position will continually engage with small groups of students. Numbers will be fluid, ranging from one (1) student to as many as ten (10) at a time for remedial purposes.
