College Career Center Assistant at Corydon Central High School
Starting Pay $11.62 an hour
Part time, working 29 hours a week (4 days) 7:45 - 3:30/181 days a year
No benefits except prorated annual leave days
*All employees must complete a nationwide criminal history
Preferred Qualifications:
Based on P.L. 107-110,section 1119© (1), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, shall have:
1) completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education
2) obtained an associates (or higher) degree; or
3) met a rigorous standard of quality through a formal state academic assessment (ParaPro)

Job Summary
The College Career Center Assistant serves to support the District’s goal that every student graduating from high school is college and career ready. The College Career Center Assistant will provide support to the College & Career Readiness program with specific responsibilities for providing students with information on career and/or post high school educational opportunities; scheduling on-site presentations by college and/or career representatives; and clerical support for the CCR program.
Performance Responsibilities
1. Under the direction of the CCR Director and CCR Coordinator, help organize, maintain and operate the day-to-day operations of the Corydon Central and South Central College Career Centers; spending designated times in both centers.
2. Create an inviting College Career Center that will facilitate creativity, student collaboration and study time.
3. Assist as directed with Work Based Learning Programs which may include coordinating job shadows, student externships and student internships.
4. Develop a job posting system to make students aware of job opportunities.
5. Maintain files on college recruiting materials, scholarships, testing forms, career materials, and financial aid information.
6. Help coordinate, announce, and report attendance of in-school college/career guest speakers.
7. Provide assistance to students in developing a life and career plan under the supervision of certified staff members.
8. Assist students with College Career Center materials and equipment; locating and using college/career information as needed for research, assignments and post-high school planning.
9. Help plan and organize career events, speakers, exploration trips, publications; prepare letters, flyers, mailers and other materials to publicize College Career Center services, resources and speaker programs;
10. Train and provide work direction to College Career Center volunteers and student assistants.
11. Assist with the PRIDE Work Ethic Program.
12. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents and the community to support South Harrison Community School Corporation goals and College and Career Readiness program objectives.
