Part Time 5.5 hours a day, with no benefits - except prorated annual leave days
*All employees must complete a nationwide criminal history
Preferred Qualifications:
Based on P.L. 107-110,section 1119© (1), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, shall have:
1) completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education
2) obtained an associates (or higher) degree; or
3) met a rigorous standard of quality through a formal state academic assessment (ParaPro)

Responsibilities:
1. Assist English Learners students with lessons assignments individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and help them to meet their academic goals.

2. Assist teachers with classroom assignments, test, homework, and other activities to support the teacher in the instructional process.

3. Adapt classroom activities, assignments and materials to support the EL students.

4. Interpreter for families, students, teachers and staff.

5. Attend parent teacher conference and other events to help families filling documentation or/and interpreting for them.

6. Communicate with instructional staff and supervisors to help evaluate the progress of the EL students.

7. Serve as a liaison between schools and families.

8. Translate for case conferences.

9. Translate documents for the school and teachers to better communicate with EL families.

10. Make sure that new EL students at the school feel comfortable and welcome in the new environment by making connections with the students.

11. Plan, organize, provide instruction for EL students with an entering proficiency english level.

12. Work with parents and families to help them find ways to assist their children to meet their academic goals.
